Freakin Rican Sofrito
Recipe ingredients
1-2 Bunches of Cilantro
1 Bunch of Culantro
2 Red Peppers
1 Green Pepper
1 Onion
3 Heads of garlic
2 cups Ajicito
¼ cup Olive or Canola Oil
Directions
- Wash all your vegetables thoroughly.
- Cut the ends to the Cilantro as well as the Culantro, about a half inch off.
- Take seeds out of the peppers as well as your ajicitos. Peel your garlic. Now start to chop up everything with your knife into about 1 inch pieces.
- Now time to use your blender or food processor, whichever you prefer. Add the oil and start adding your ingredients in.
- Blend till creamy but you can leave little chunks. Jar and freeze or simply keep in your refrigerator.

One good thing with sofrito is to never ever use a wet spoon nor let the steam from a cooking pot get into the jars and they will last much longer and not go bad.
